To Fake Chanel... Or not to Fake Chanel...

II'm not sure, but I'm thinking a little sweatshop worker who is five years most likely put this bag together for 5 cents a day in China. It was given to me today and i'm not sure what to think. It's my friend's mom who gave it to me. She is opening a "Canal Street" type store downtown, and selling bags like these. What should I do? I feel bad... Confused... Thoughts?

they break the legs of children in vietnam so they cant run away from their machines to make those bags...
it's not a good idea
whenever i see people selling them i yell at them
like i know i could really use a chanel bag
but not at the expense of children less fortunate than i

i concur with parker
save up for a nice marc jacobs bag or something.
if it doesn't really REALLY look legit then why would you even bother carrying it around anyway

im going to agree and disagree.
those nike kicks you wear? some little kid in a sweat shop is making those for probably 15 cents a day. if you can wear shoes on your feet, and not think twice, then why wear them? the kid that made those shoes probably doesnt even own a pair of shoes.. or never will, unless they are lucky.

a bag, you can wear once or twice then sell it or give it to a charity. even if you use it once, you can still say you used it. its sad to think that yes, a little kid is making that bag for 5 cents, and putting blood sweat and tears into it, and someone isnt even going to use it.

i need to agree with, erinn ♥. yeah, i get what parkereloise is saying, but if you buy anything that isn't handmade, it's most likely produced in sweatshops, its a terrible truth, but the truth nonetheless. my friend once gifted me a fake burberry, i guess to make herself seem more 'in crowd', but i wasn't going to be rude to her, i actually wore it to the farmers market with her, but at the moment its shoved in the far back of my closet, your story just reminded me of it.
